Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, performs clinical testing in the following laboratory areas: blood bank, chemistry, serology, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, special chemistry, and microbiology, obtains or receives specimens, performs laboratory tests according to written procedures, understands methods and principles, performs and evaluates quality control on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION & ABILITIES:
Certification, Registration, or Licensure: Nevada certification as Clinical Laboratory Technologist or General Supervisor. National certification in Medical Technology by ASCP or equivalent.
Minimum Education: Bachelors degree in a biological science; American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) certification as a Medical Technologist or equivalency; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are required.
Minimum Experience: Three years' working experience as general medical technologist preferred.
